Allison Aller

Allie Aller

After earning her degree in Design and Environmental Analysis from Cornell University in 1977, Allie has been quilting non-stop. She made bed quilts, Broderie Perse, stained glass quilts, and landscape quilts for two and an half decades and these approaches still inform her creativity, but now the sumptuous and liberating genre of crazy quilting is her focus.

Allie’s work has appeared in various magazines including Quilters Newsletter Magazine, American Quilter and the free e-zine CQMagOnline.com. Her work has received awards that include First Place at AQS in 2003 and at Houston in 2008. She also serves on the board of the Alliance for American Quilts.

Allie enjoys teaching crazy piecing and embellishment, and loves meeting other stitchers all over the country. She invites you to visit her blog, AlliesInStitches.blogspot.com, where she posts works-in-progress photos and tutorials.

“My Journey as a Quilter”

“I have been quilting for eleven years. I enjoy designing my own patterns, teaching and speaking. Most of my work has an Asian motif to it, although I have and will try most any other type of quilt. I find choosing the fabric the most challenging and fun part of any quilt, and when you find just the right fabrics, what a rush! My trunk runneth over with my many design samples and projects, which I enjoy sharing along with my fun-filled “Journey as a Quilter”
