Donations and Pricing
To donate gently used treasures, or stash castoffs to the Bargain Garden, bring them in sturdy boxes and bags to the monthly PVQA meeting. Of particular interest is fabric, tools, magazines, books, or any other craft item. For the Silent Auction at the Garden, any fiber art is welcome: needlework, quilt tops, quilts, etc. Laura updates us,
"We've decided to change how our fabrics are priced. It will be so much easier: All fabrics, other than cotton quilting fabric, will be sold by weight. If you're able to roll up donations that's terrific. If you can measure and price the quilting cottons, that's even better. Magazines and books should be boxed separately and left outside the main doors of the temple. Our committee will take it from there. Thanks for donating ... and shopping!"Here's the pricing guideline if you're game to price your own:
For larger items that you would like to have picked up at your home, contact the Head Gardener, Laura Milburn at 831-420-1848, email Laura.
Donation Deadline: Monday, January 12, 2009 is the last chance to donate to the 2009 quilt show.
"If we collect all year long, the garden grows in an orderly fashion and makes this an enjoyable job!"
(See photo at the top of this page.) While checking out a garage sale, PVQA member Laura Barnett noted a huge amount of fabric, patterns, and various other quilting and sewing supplies. While speaking with the seller, she mentioned that if things were left at the end of the garage sale, PVQA would be delighted to have them for our Quilt Show's Bargain Garden. Little did she know Petra Ebangi's generosity would fill not only the entire bed of the Chevy Silverado truck belonging to Laura's husband Mike, but the back seat of the truck would be mounded high as well! Such intriguing treasures!! And to boot, Laura reports, "Petra is a real sweetheart!"
Petra, thank you so much for your generosity. Our 2009 Quilt Show goers will have even more hidden treasures in the Bargain Garden to investigate and invest in!
