On Saturday, March 10, Allie will give a class on Cotton Crazy Quilt Piecing. She will cover two methods of curved machine crazy “piecing” (hint: it is really applique!), creating a small project with a central block and narrow border. Sunday’s class will focus on Embellishing the Cotton Crazy Quilt. Allie will be teaching basic crazy quilt embroidery stitches, the ones used traditionally to cover the seams between patches on crazy quilts. Day 2’s work can go onto Day 1’s project, or students can sign up just for Day 2 and bring in fabric for creating a stitch sample. The fee for each workshop is $35 for PVQA members and $50 for non-members. Times and location to be announced.

You’ve seen her stuff at our Quilt Show. Now is your chance to learn some of her techniques. This is a combination hands-on and demonstration workshop. You will create a small landscape using cool stuff and leave a small art piece, pinned and ready to sew, and lots of inspiration for new projects. Come and see what you can create as you experiment with cool stuff that will enable you to create waterfalls, fire, trees, clouds, streams, and abstract art! Kit fee of $20

Geri Richardson: Needle turn appliqué
Using a Geri Richardson - designed kit, participants will expand their skill set in this 5 hour workshop in hand appliqué techniques. Workshop features methods of template-free basting, and secrets of perfect inside and outside points and smooth edges. The cost is $30 for PVQA members, $50 for non-members.
