You will learn Four ways to transfer a design from to fabric. You’ll learn to use a light table, Saral tracing paper, paper Sulky, different marking tools including: chalk, water erasable pencils, Crayola Washable markers, heat erasable markers.

About the event

This class, taught by Nancy Gonzalez-Caro, is for a PM class and part of the May 16 Techniques Day. Participants should choose one AM and one PM class. This is a 2.5 -hour workshop. You'll learn to:

  1. Trace a chosen design to your fabric using a light table, Saral tracing paper and a stylus.

  2. Trace a chosen design to Paper Sulky using a light table and pin or baste the Paper Sulky to your fabric for stitching.

  3. Trace a stencil onto your fabric using different marking tools including: chalk water erasable pencils, Crayola Washable markers, heat erasable markers.

  4. Draw a simple grid on your fabric to create your own Sashiko design using chalk water erasable pencils, Crayola Washable markers, or heat erasable markers.

    There is a kit fee of $10 payable to the teacher please see supply list.
