About the event
This Kawandi class, taught by Jill Walker, is an AM class and part of the May 16 Techniques Day. Participants should choose one AM and one PM class.
For this 2.5 -hour workshop, you’ll be introduced to Kawandi style hand stitching using basic traditional methods with lots of tips for finding your own style for this relaxing and enjoyable kind of patchwork. Kwandi is a traditional, hand-stitched patchwork technique from India. It is characterized by sewing from outside in, using scrap fabrics to create intricate patterns without pre-piecing. It is used as a method of recycling old saris and clothing into beautiful decorative quilts, wall hangings or table runners.
